To enhance outstanding college students’ understanding and awareness of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Jilin University, and to promote exchange and talent selection among different universities, our school held the 2025 Campus Open Day from July 2 to July 4.
Through stages including student application and school selection, over a hundred outstanding college students from universities across the country were ultimately shortlisted for this event.

At 10:00 a.m. on July 2, 2025, the opening ceremony was grandly held in the Lecture Hall on the eighth floor of the Mechanical and Materials Building. The Campus Open Day was presided over by Vice Dean Yang Chunchun, and was attended by Shao Juntao, Deputy Party Secretary; Wang Guoyong, Admissions Coordinator for Materials Science; Wang Haitao, Admissions Coordinator for Materials Chemistry and Physics; Zhang Xinge, Discipline Coordinator for Materials Processing Engineering; Liu Hui, Director of the Graduate Affairs Office; Zhao Xilai; and other faculty members.

At the beginning of the meeting, Vice Dean Yang Chunchun led all the students in reviewing the development history, faculty strength, and laboratory facilities of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Jilin University. He also introduced the educational scale and the achievements of the school.
Subsequently, Shao Juntao, Deputy Party Secretary, delivered a speech. He warmly welcomed the arrival of the students and gave a detailed introduction to the humanistic care and management model for graduate students at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Jilin University. He emphasized the school’s commitment to providing a warm harbor for the students.
Wang Haitao, Admissions Coordinator for Materials Chemistry and Physics, introduced the Materials Physical Chemistry program covering aspects such as historical evolution, faculty team, research directions, paper achievements, and graduate employment.

Wang Guoyong, Admissions Coordinator for Materials Science, introduced Jilin University, which is located in the beautiful Spring City of Changchun. He presented the Materials Science program and its related faculty strength from the perspectives of metallic materials, inorganic non-metallic materials, and polymer materials

Zhang Xinge, Discipline Coordinator for Materials Processing Engineering, introduced the development history, faculty team, research achievements, training program, and enrollment numbers of the Materials Processing Engineering program to the audience.

At 12:30 p.m., guided by volunteers, the outstanding students participating in the camp departed from the West Gate of the Nanling Campus. They walked across the Nanhu Bridge, passed by the Nanhu Campus, and headed to the South Qianwei Campus. They passed by attractions in the South Qianwei Campus such as Wuyuehua Square and Rixin Building, and visited the University History Museum. Afterwards, they passed through the Xinmin Campus and proceeded to the Chaoyang Campus. Finally, before arriving at the Chaoyang Campus by 4:30 p.m., they visited the Geological Palace and took a group photo to commemorate the visit.
