On March 25, 2025, Elsevier officially released the 2024 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers list. A total of 35 distinguished scholars from Jilin University were selected. Among them, five professors from our college—Zheng Weitao, Zhang Lijun, Jiang Qichuan, Jiang Qing and Yan Junmin—were successfully included under the discipline of Materials Science and Engineering.

The list is released after systematic scientific analysis based on Scopus, Elsevier’s world-leading citation and indexing database. This year’s list contains 6,388 researchers from 547 universities, enterprises and research institutes, covering 83 first-level disciplines across 10 major disciplinary fields defined by the Ministry of Education. Adopting an optimized disciplinary classification mapping framework built upon the Scopus database, the list covers 111 sub-disciplines spanning engineering, natural sciences, medicine, agriculture and other branches.
