On November 12, 2025, Clarivate released the 2025 Highly Cited Researchers™ list. A total of 6,868 scientists from over 1,300 institutions across 60 countries and regions worldwide were selected for the 2025 roster. Jilin University boasted 15 distinguished scholars on the list, among whom four professors from our college — Zheng Weitao, Zhang Lijun, Cui Xiaoqiang and Zhang Wei — were successfully included under the Multidisciplinary category.

Clarivate’s annual Highly Cited Researchers list honors globally influential natural and social scientists who have made substantial contributions to their respective disciplines. The selection methodology relies on rigorous evaluation and collation of highly cited paper data indexed in SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded) and SSCI (Social Sciences Citation Index), conducted by bibliometric experts from Clarivate’s Institute for Scientific Information (ISI).
