Research Interests:

Preparation of transition metal oxides and carbon nanocomposites and their application in electrochemical energy storage and photoelectrocatalysis

In particular: electrode materials of supercapacitors, semiconductor nanocomposite photocatalytic materials, materials for hydrogen production by water electrolysis, etc.

Prof. Tian serves as the peer review expert of National Natural Science Foundation of China, peer review expert of China Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Development Center, peer review expert of Natural Science Foundation of Jilin Province. Prof. Tian has engaged in the applied research such as the preparation of transition metal oxides and carbon nanocomposites and their application in electrochemical energy storage and photoelectrocatalysis. Prof. Tian has presided over 2 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 1 national defense project, 6 provincial and ministerial projects and 4 horizontal projects (Enterprises), with total disposable funds of 5 million yuan. Prof. Tian published 95 SCI papers and his SCI papers have been cited 2000 times

for 2000 times (h-index = 27); he obtained 10 national invention patents. Prof. Tian participated in the writing of Chapter 6 of the monograph titledThin Film Materials and Thin Film Materials Technology. Prof. Tian won the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Jilin Province in 2008 (ranked sixth) and won the first prize of Natural Science Award of Jilin Province in 2016 (ranked fifth). Prof. Tian is the special reviewer for 50 internationally-renowned SCI journals including Coordin. Chem. Rev., Appl. Catal. B-Environ., Small, Chem. Eng. J., ACS Appl. Mater. Inter., J. Power Sources, Chem. Commun., J. Eur. Ceram. Soc., J. Phys. Chem. C, Appl. Surf. Sci., etc.
