Research Interests:

Prof. Xu has been engaging in a lot of research centering on the strengthening and toughening design of steel and light alloys, including the precipitation, strengthening and toughening, and electropulsing-induced strengthening of steel, high-strength aluminum, titanium and other alloys. Prof. Xu presided over many projects including “The electropulsing-induced strengthening mechanism of α+β-type titanium alloy of ultra-high-strength and high-toughness (51701080)” of National Natural Science Foundation of China Project (Youth), “New materials of zinc aluminum alloy mold and the development of its liquid forming technology (2016220002000169)” of Changchun Xingyu Machinery Products Co., Ltd., and “Aerospace fasteners based on electropulsing-induced strengthening technology and technology and industrialization of directional modification of materials(2018220002000349)” of Oriental Blue Sky Titanium Technology Co., Ltd. Prof. Xu participated in the research work including “Development of all-hydraulic operated drill for deep continental scientific drilling (SinoProbe-09-05) - R&D of new materials for heat-resistant aluminum alloy drill rod of high-strength (Nos. 201011082)”, “New materials and processing technology for automotive vehicle(SXGJSF2017-3) )” of Jilin Provincial Department of Finance, “Non-destructive neutron testing analysis of advanced engineering materials-1 (2017YFA0403704)” of Sub-project of National Key Project, and “Study on SPR composite connection technology of steel and aluminum dissimilar materials of automobile body and the fatigue crack propagation(No.51775227)” of National Natural Science Foundation of China. As the primary author or the corresponding author, Prof. Xu has published more than 20 papers in internationally renowned academic journals.
