Hu Chaoquan
Professor/Doctoral Supervisor
Hu Chaoquan, D.E., majoring in Materials Physics and Chemistry, is now a doctoral supervisor and professor in School of Materials Science and Engineering, Jilin University (2015-present). He completed his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies in Jilin University (supervised by Professor Zheng Weitao); studied in the Harbin University of Technology as a postdoctoral student (co-advised by Professor Han Jiecai and Professor Zhu Jiaqi); three times been to Nanyang Technological University in Singapore as a visiting scholar, post-doctoral and visiting researcher (the co-advisor was Professor Sam Zhang). Dr. Hu is the council member of the Chinese Crystallographic Society; council member of the experts committee of Optoelectronic Material Device Network; council member of Jilin Province Society of Analysis and Testing Technology; member of the Journal Editorial Board, China Science paper; 2019 Excellent Reviewer, Light: Sci. & Appl.; and the two-time Co-Chair of Optical Thin Film Theme, Thin Films Society, 2016-2019. He has been long engaged in studying the growth and application of protective optical thin film, super-hard thin film and intelligent optical thin film and has published more than 30 SCI academic papers as the first/corresponding author including three articles in Acta Mater. (IF=7.7, Engineering Technology Q 1, the top journal in the field of traditional materials), one in Light Sci. Appl. (IF=13.7, Physics Q 1, the top journal in the field of optics, the paper was rated as one of the most downloaded papers of 2019), one in J. Mater. Chem. A (IF=11.3, Engineering Technology Q 1, review article), etc. As the first inventor, he has applied for 17 national invention patents (6 have been licensed). He has undertaken two projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one NSFC key project (as principal of the cooperative unit), one special project of National Major Scientific Instrument Development (as principal of the task unit) among others. The project he participated in won the first prize of Science and Technology Progress of Jilin Province and Zhu Liangyi Innovation Award of Analytical Instrument. The students he guided have won awards such as the Excellent Dissertation Prize multiple times.
