Description: The program will familiarize students with basic theories in materials science. Students are expected to master basic laws of the relationship between the performance and the composition of metal materials and its composite, metal structure, production process and environment. Students are cultivated to improve the performance, quality and service life of materials for maximum economic and social benefits through optimizing the design in materials processing. Based on the common platform of basic training in materials science and engineering, the program will build a cultivation facility composed of various courses and practical training for future material scientists, engineers and experts in related management programs. Our object is to cultivate high-quality and specialized talents with solid knowledge and professional skills in materials science and engineering.

Main courses: Physical Chemistry of Materials, Thermodynamics of Materials, Electron Microscopy and Analysis, Mechanical Properties of Materials, Metallic Materials, Composite Materials, Surface Engineering, Nanomaterials, Funtional Materials, Automotive Materials, Fundamentals of Computer Application.

Career opportunities: Graduates can find employment in universities, colleges, vocational schools and research centers as researchers and teachers in such fields as new materials and new process. Students can also choose to work in enterprises, companies and government agencies and engage in the work of materials application, technology development and technical management.
