Department of Inorganic Nonmetallic Material Engineering

   Program description: the program covers basic theory and research methods concerning composition, micro-structure, preparation process and the relationship to macroscopic properties of new inorganic materials and traditional materials such as ceramics, glass, cement, semiconductors, inorganic crystals and composite materials. The program aims to create a high quality talent pool of graduate who masters basic theory in material science and engineering and is capable of inorganic non-metallic materials research and development, material property and structure inspection and evaluation, and process design. Inorganic Non-metallic Materials Engineering is the engineering discipline that pulls together ideas from material sciences, chemistry, physics, mineralogy and ceramics to achieve useful ends. Non-metallic material engineers contribute to many aspects such as mining and deep-processing materials of the inorganic industries, developing and producing advanced materials with tailored characteristics, developing nano-scale molecular assembly for new sciences and technology. The members of the faculty and staff are composed of 6 professors and 5 associate professors.

  Main courses: Physical Chemistry, Solid State Physics, Electrical and Electronic Technology, Crystallography and Material Mineralogy, Inorganic Materials Science Fundamentals, Material Engineering Fundamentals, Material Testing Methods, Physical Property Of Inorganic Materials, Functional Materials, Inorganic Metalloid Materials Technics, Composite Materials and so on.
